Bootlaw goes to the Palace

On Thursday 20th October, Bootlaw Ambassador Barry Vitou attended Buckingham Palace for a VIP reception hosted by HRH the Duke of York in support of “Tech City”.  Others, including Techcrunch have written up the event, and like them, Barry was struck with the evolution of a community over the last few years.   From humble beginnings Shoreditch and Silicon Roundabout is now invited to the Palace, there were a lot of suits present (and not just because the invitation said so).  The community has matured significantly in the last three years.  Admittedly Buckingham Palace is not many miles away but from Old Street it seems like light years.

Stories abound of large tech companies from the Valley moving in.  Google has just leased a building to start ups to to talent spot out of the kindness of their hearts.  In other news another well known London law firm has announced it is opening a satellite office in Old Street.

Speaking to one attendee from the Valley Barry was told that London was considered to be a great place to launch a start up and that US start ups and technology companies were making a beeline to London to take advantage of the favourable conditions and be part of the community.  We couldn’t agree more.

Our Bootlaw twitter strapline says it all: “Essential law for startups and tech businesses – the original one, brought to you by @danversbaillieu and @bazv at Pinsent Masons LLP”

Sign up come along and find out why we’re the largest legal meet up in the world with nearly 1000 members after 3 short years!

We’ve got plenty of announcements to make in coming months so watch this space.
