Barry Vitou
Barry is partner with Winston & Strawn in London and leads the technology practice in London. In August 2008, he co-founded Bootlaw. He is also a gadget geek. It all started with a Bush tape recorder, an old Sony Trinitron, some glue and a Dragon 32.
Recommended by the Legal 500 for venture capital and tech, the publication reported, “Under Barry Vitou, Winston & Strawn London knows its tech inside out and targets start-up companies in the digital, new media, and emerging technology fields.”
High profile recent matters include advising Keynoir in relation to its recent venture capital fundraising from Index and ProFounders Capital and Secret Sales in relation to their investment from German private buying club Brands4Friends. Other emerging technology clients include Rummble, Tweetminster and The Filter.
Barry also advises some household names on digital and web related technology matters.
There isn’t time to name all the companies Barry helps and some of them are a little shy.
Barry advises clients in connection with venture capital investments, joint ventures, and commercial contracts, including licensing and affiliate deals. When it’s time to exit Barry represents companies on M&A deals and IPO’s. For reasons too complicated to go into Barry can keep you out of trouble as well and is expert in anti-corruption and money laundering law.
